Egyptian Hip-Hop

January 26, 2010

After Egypt’s extra time demolition of Cameroon and the announcement of their semi-final tie with Algeria, anyone with a bit of Pharoah in them is rightly jubilant. So when I saw that Nottingham’s Stealth nightclub was playing host to an Egyptian Hip-Hop event, I got myself on seetickets straight away. Brilliant – I thought – an evening of Egyptian Lover’s back catalogue, maybe with support from Arabian Prince, Pharoahe Monch, The Fat Boys (Mido and Amr Zaki) and a freestyle spot from Mohamed Zidan. Unfortunately, Egyptian Hip-Hop are a skinny-jeaned electro-pop outfit from Manchester. Good luck to you, guys.

Note wrong with skinny jeans. Just ask the New Boyz (or the Cool Kids in 2008). Thanks for the comment anyway. Your feedback is important.
